Freddie Prinze Jr. Recalls Io Shirai (IYO SKY) Shutting Down A Racist Fan

Freddie Prinze Jr. not too long ago took to his Wrestling With Freddie to recall when Io Shirai, now referred to as IYO SKY, shut down a racist fan throughout her NXT days.

“It was an effective way to open SummerSlam. It simply jogged my memory of one of many coolest Io Shirai tales ever. There was an episode of NXT, and I don’t suppose it was a TV present, it was only a home present as a result of this [incident] was recorded on somebody’s telephone. And Io Shirai’s in a tag match, and she or he’s ready for the recent tag to go in. Simply then, some racist pr–okay within the crowd yells ‘return to China.’ And she or he throws a glance over her shoulder, and she or he goes, ‘I’m Japanese, b—h.’ And she or he takes the tag and the entire crowd simply storms this racist man verbally. They personal him and start to clown him. It was nice to see.”
