On Monday (Aug. 15), Dolvett Quince shared a snippet of his upcoming interview with Dr. Dre for the Workout the Doubt podcast. Through the sit-down, the legendary producer spoke about almost dying after he suffered a brain aneurysm final January.
“I am at Cedar Sinai Hospital and so they weren’t permitting anyone to return up, which means guests or household or something like that due to COVID,” Dre recounted. “However they allowed my household to return in. I discovered later, they referred to as them up so they may say their final goodbyes as a result of they thought I used to be out of right here.”
“I did not understand it was that severe,” he continued. “I am seeing my mother and my sister and all people coming within the room. No person advised me. I had no thought. That was loopy. So, I am in the ICU for 2 weeks. Due to what was happening with my mind, they needed to wake me up each hour on the hour for 2 weeks to do these exams. Principally trying like sobriety exams. Contact your nostril, rub your heel in your calf and all that shit. So each hour for 2 weeks I needed to get up and do this.”
Dre says he got here out of the scenario stronger than ever. The The Chronic producer was within the midst of a divorce battle with his ex-wife when he was hospitalized. After being launched, he received proper again within the studio, with some folks speculating that he was working on his long-awaited Detox album.
